ABOUT UMFC

Practices
We conduct practices every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in Cooke Hall Room 308. It is the building adjacent to the RecWell and can be accessed by going to the RecWell’s 2nd floor and following the hallway to your left until you find the North and South Basketball courts. From there, the sky-way leads to Cooke Hall. The practice times are as follows:
Monday: 6-7:30, 7:30-9pm (Beginner practice and Open bouting)
Tuesday: 6-8pm (Practice)
Thursday: 6-7:30, 7:30-9pm (Beginner practice and Open bouting)
Saturday: 1-3pm (Practice)
What to bring
All equipment is provided. Please wear athletic clothes though – fencing is a surprisingly intense sport. If you have your own equipment, feel free to bring it. Make sure you bring necessary means of hydration (sadly, we do not provide club water bottles).
Weapons
We have all three weapons (saber, epee, and foil) for all genders. Please let us know if a fourth weapons exists so that we may add it to our roster as soon as possible.
Eligibility
People who have attended more than three practices owe us dues. The first three practices are free. If you are not affiliated with the U, just contact us and as long as you are paying your dues, you’re more than welcome to come.
Tournaments
We host at least one tournament on campus per semester and we frequently travel to other states to compete. You will find all the necessary information in the Schedule and Announcement tabs. All expenses are (usually) covered. However, we will only pay if you are dues-paying.
